Hornby Hall, PenrithHornby Hall, CA10 2ARHornby Hall, guest roomHornby Hall, twin bedroom
Representing the epitome of country house accommodation in Cumbria, Hornby Hall offers up 16th century elegance and style encompassing accommodation which reflects all the best aspects of the age with the additional appeal of superb contemporary features.
The Grade II listed Tudor building certainly evokes an immediate sense of history and understated grandeur but the location too provides visitors with a wealth of options, whether for visiting the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales or simply enjoying the splendid rural locale and associated outdoor activities such as fishing and shooting.
Hornby Hall is very much a family home and while much of the period interiors and styling complement the building itself, they enhance rather than detract from the warm and welcoming hospitality which awaits guests.
An equally suitable base for walkers and cyclists as the ideal backdrop to special events and celebrations, Hornby Hall benefits from a peaceful location, on a working farm, yet is just 1 mile from the A66 and 3 miles from Penrith.
Accommodation within Hornby Hall is offered in a series of south facing bedrooms, each individually designed with their own special appeal.
Five main bedrooms have en suite or private bathroom facilities and two smaller tower bedrooms share a shower room and are accessed via a spiral sandstone staircase.
Traditional styling with modern touches and all contemporary amenities bring out the best in all the guest rooms. All rooms have twin or double beds and one large bedroom has a king size bed. Tariff ranges from £80 per night for a tower room to £100 per night for the largest room.
Prices include breakfast, chosen from a selection of full cooked English options, cereals, fruit, nuts and yoghurt. Guest can opt for evening meals too; a fabulous three-course dinner made from fresh local ingredients, many of which are from the farm and gardens.
